There are a lot of things to do in Cavite. It may not be at the top of many people’s travel lists, but you might be surprised to know that the province is more than just the chilly mountain climbs of Tagaytay (though it’s always a great place to be!). Cavite is definitely worth exploring–from mountains to beaches to historical sites, especially for those with time and a full tank of fuel. Tagaytay is known as a foodie destination because of all the great restaurants and cafés in the surrounding area—but if you want to skip the crowds and explore a little farther, there are a lot of other options.
If you want to stay close to Tagaytay, you can go down Aguinaldo Highway to nearby Silang to visit places like Siglo Farm Café and Gourmet Farms. For coffee lovers, there are a number of cafes all around in cities like Imus and Dasmariñas.

Those looking for a more intense trip can take a ferry to Corregidor Island off the southwestern coast of Manila Bay to tour a World War 2-era fortress and learn more about the history of the Philippines.
Other things to do in Cavite is to visit historic churches. Those who want to make pilgrimages or visit these equally legendary sites can make a trip to parishes such as St. Michael the Archangel in Bacoor, one of the oldest churches in the province that survived the British invasion of the Philippines in 1762. Fr. Mariano Gomes, one of the three martyred priests known as GOMBURZA, administered this church from 1824 until his execution in 1872. St. Francis of Assisi in General Trias is also another church to visit. This site bore witness to the first performances of the Philippine National Anthem before its official debut at the Philippine Declaration of Independence in June 12, 1898.
